Flamingo Land is a Theme Park and Zoo based near Pickering. It is about 40 minutes from Primrose Lodge.
Fantastic family fun! With seven unique themed areas, including Children’s Planet, our latest active play zone for younger guests, you’ll find just one day is never enough. Journey through The Lost Kingdom’s vast African plains, the clear blue skies of Swoosh! and the wet and wacky world of Splosh! and we’re sure you’ll discover that our Theme Park has something for all ages to enjoy. If you’re looking for adrenaline-fuelled thrills, then eight extreme rides are waiting just for you, including the record-breaking Mumbo Jumbo, featuring the world’s steepest drop! There are also over a dozen family attractions, from The Lost River Ride to Zooom!, our latest aeroplane coaster. Alternatively, you can add a whole new dimension to your viewing pleasure by joining Happy Feet’s Mumble and friends in Flamingo Land’s 4D Cinema. Excitement and adventure for our youngest guests is also assured by a fantastic collection of junior coasters, carousels and fun slides, plus indoor and outdoor soft play areas too! We’re sure to feed your appetite for fun, but there’s also a superb selection of restaurants, cafés and bars that are guaranteed to satisfy your hunger!
Away from the thrills of our sensational Theme Park, you’ll quickly discover what makes us the UK’s most visited Zoo. With tigers from the tropical forests of South East Asia, giraffes from sub-Saharan Africa, Penguin Coast, our amazing new penguin pool, and all the kids’ favourites in our Muddy Duck Farm collection, you can enjoy a truly amazing view of the animal kingdom in the heart of North Yorkshire. What’s more, with regular handling sessions and talks by our zoo keepers, there’s sure to be something that’ll capture your imagination. Benefiting from a collaborative research programme, our Zoo Team focuses on creating environments that mimic natural habitats for over 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds. A number of these residents are part of international breeding programmes, helping to preserve endangered populations in the wild. For true animal lovers, there are plenty of ways to get involved. From our Be A Zoo Keeper experience to Animal Encounters and Zoo Trails, a world of discovery awaits. However, our passion for animals goes far beyond creating truly unforgettable memories for our guests. From supporting an integrated conservation, research and education project in Tanzania’s Udzungwa Forest to protecting native wildlife in collaboration with David Bellamy, we always take animal welfare and conservation seriously
